Scott is associate professor of political science at Indiana University and director of the Research Center for Chinese Politics and Business, which has offices in Indiana and Beijing. Scott received his PhD from George Washington University, and has published three books, most recently Beyond the Middle Kingdom: Comparative Perspectives on China's Capitalist Transformation. Scott is a leading expert in government-business relations in China, and writes the monthly China Policy Watch note for GKDragonomics, on Chinese politics and industrial policy.
