Cathy Holcombe is a former financial journalist whose work has appeared in the South China Morning Post, The Standard, the Far Eastern Economic Review and Spike magazine, among other publications. Since making a jump to banking during the Hong Kong bull market in 1996 – when, she points out, even a donkey could have been hired to flog stocks - she has worked for Indosuez WI Carr, Quam Securities and JPMorgan, in roles including analyst, institutional sales-trader and editor. She graduated with an English degree from Duquesne University, and a Master's in Latin American Studies from the University of Chicago.
